Responsibilities: As a Transmission Planner, you will:
Providing electrical engineering analysis and technical support for the planning and operation of the transmission system.
Performing system studies, analyze operating results, develop solutions to current or future system issues, and appropriately report findings and recommendations.
Participating and coordinating with MISO on various working groups and model development.
Preparing reports with project justifications for budgetary purposes and regulatory bodies.
Applying transmission planning techniques, procedures, and criteria using professional judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
Ensuring compliance with MISO and NERC regulatory planning standards, requirements, and guidelines.
Conducting fieldwork in high voltage environments (e.g., inside substations) and/or residences of members.
Experience/Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
Professional Engineering license is desirable.
Five or more years of experience preferred.
Prior experience with MISO (or other RTO) and NERC standards and compliance procedures is preferred.
