CNC Machinist Opportunity in Villard, MN
Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with a leading manufacturing company in Villard, MN. We are seeking candidates for a CNC Machinist on 1st shift. Compensation for this contract opportunity is based on skills and experience.
What You Will Do as a CNC Machinist:
- Support production operations by performing low to moderate machining operations, operating one or more types of machine tools such as mills, drill presses, lathes, etc.
- Set up basic tooling, write and execute basic programs.
- Set up, operate and program a broad range of production work involving close tolerance and set ups that are exacting that are somewhat involved and have a low to moderate degree of difficulty.
- Read and interpret specific machining instructions from blueprints, part, and machine drawings.
- Perform secondary operations such as stamping part numbers and deburring during machine cycle times.
- Perform routine maintenance.
- Inspect machine parts to ensure they meet proper size, shape, or tolerance specs using micrometers and other measuring tools and devices.
What You Need to Be a CNC Machinist:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Technical Degree in Machine Tool Technology or related field preferred; 2-3 years of relevant machining experience can be substituted for Technical Degree
- Ability to problem solve and a good mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to learn and understand job methods and instructions in a timely manner
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement processes preferred
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds
