Responsibilities

The Admissions Recruiter is responsible for creating and expanding the awareness of Moraine Valley Community College within the college district. The recruiter will provide informational advice to prospective students regarding admission to the college, educational options and support services available to students. The role focuses on the recruitment of both adult and high school learners, conducting outreach at district high schools, businesses, libraries and community based organizations, as well as on?campus recruitment events. The recruiter will serve as a liaison with the dual credit department and provide regular updates and status reports of initiatives focusing on adult learners. The position is dedicated to learning?college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work closely with high school counselors and faculty to establish a visible presence at area high schools through visits, college fairs, meetings with high school staff and conducting day and evening recruitment events.
  • Establish a pipeline of returning adult students by building relationships with district businesses, libraries and chambers of commerce, and partnering with Moraine Valley departments to leverage local business relationships.
  • Use time management skills to prospect and recruit new students.
  • Assist in the development of follow?up methods for moving prospective students through the pipeline, including mailing, e?mail, personal follow?up phone calls and targeted communication.
  • Be an important part of developing an annual recruitment plan that includes specific and measurable strategies and outcomes, timelines, evaluation methods and budget source identification.
  • Responsible for enrollment reports.
  • Utilize institutional data, dashboards and CRM information to communicate with students in the pipeline through email, text, phone and other approaches.
  • Assist dual?credit students with the transitioning process to become students of Moraine Valley Community College.
  • In conjunction with the colleges division offices, deans and departments, develop, implement and evaluate activities and programs that create and expand awareness of the college and its programs to targeted populations.
  • Coordinate tours, workshops and presentations about the college for groups of prospective students, families, counselors and community members.
  • Provide exemplary customer service in all interactions with outreach contacts, including community members, business contacts, college faculty and staff, high school administrators and admitted and prospective students and families.
  • Develop and assist in the maintenance of the Admissions website.
  • Collaborate with other recruiters to develop ways to effectively utilize student ambassadors in the recruitment process on and off campus.
  • Work with Admissions staff in providing assistance to students throughout the enrollment process.
  • Actively participate in educational organizations including IACAC.
  • Assist with Student Development projects and programming during non?peak times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions and Recruitment.


Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field required.
  • Minimum of one to three (13) years of experience in recruiting and marketing initiatives required, preferably in higher education.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic plans; working with various campus/community populations and adult and high?school learners.


Qualifications

In addition to the above, the Admissions Recruiter position requires extensive interaction with the public; must have excellent written, verbal communication and organizational skills; ability to manage many projects at one time; ability to plan and implement projects and events; knowledge of educational marketing and recruitment practices; technology competency; ability to work weekends and evenings and travel off campus as needed. Must possess a valid drivers license.

Additional Qualifications Sought
  • Knowledge of Colleague (Ellucian).
  • Metrics driven with the ability to utilize data to drive student enrollment.
  • Bilingual skills in Arabic, Polish, or Spanish welcomed; experience engaging with diverse campus and community populations.



Position Status

Full Time

Hours

General Hours: Monday Thursday, 8:00?am to 5:00?pm; 9:00?am to 6:00?pm one day a week. Friday, 8:00?am to 5:00?pm. Additional weekend and evening hours are required at times.

Salary

$47,945 $64,160 (plus benefits)
